“This is the only painting in the Minotaur Series that is not on canvas. I wanted to have the figure of the Critic standing in front of an Abstract in relief. So the work needed to be on wood.

I did not want the work, which is quite large, to have any flex. I decided to make the painting surface from 6 wood panels. Among the mixed materials used to construct the relief are wood, foam, nylon cord, plaster with gauze and gold leaf”
