The Bystander

Finalist - 2018 Colleen Art Award

“Travelling through the Weddin Shire I came across the small Town of Caragabal about 45 mins West of Grenfell NSW. Caragabal is very small, its population is only 214.

I decided to have a wander around. Behind a corrugated iron shed which had once been an auto repair shop were parked 6 old Chrysler vehicles of various types. Something about the scene, perhaps the apparent isolation, inspired me to use the location as the crime scene in a painting about watching or looking at something”
